Media requests
If you are a journalist with a press enquiry, please call the communications team on 07559 918672. This telephone number is available 24 hours a day but our response is limited out of hours (please see below).
What can we help with?
- Brief details of incidents in public places – we will need the location and approximate time of the incident to be able to provide any information (please note, details may be restricted if the incident is a crime)
- Statement or interview requests
- Filming requests – these should always be made in writing and sent to publicrelations@neas.nhs.uk
Information we can’t provide:
- Details of incidents in private addresses
- Any patient details which are considered to be sensitive or confidential
- The death of a patient
- Condition checks on patients that are no longer in our care
Out of hours
Although our number is available 24 hours a day, we cannot answer non-urgent enquiries out of hours. The press officer you speak with will not be in a work/office environment so calls may not be responded to immediately.
If your enquiry is not urgent, please email publicrelations@neas.nhs.uk and it will be picked up by the team the next working day.
The out of hours team can help with:
- Ongoing incidents
- Serious threat to the health of the community
- Disruption to the service
- Any other urgent enquiry which cannot wait until the next working day
Please note that if you contact us out of hours and your enquiry is not deemed to meet the criteria above, your enquiry will be picked up in hours.
