North East Ambulance Service supports Newcastle United Foundation in helping young people develop career skills.

Colleagues at the North East Ambulance Service will attend the Newcastle United Foundation’s life skill workshop at The Community Hub in the Metrocentre on Friday 22 November 2024.

The event, hosted by the Foundation, will support 16–25-year-olds from organisations across the North East such as the King’s Trust, in developing employability skills like teamworking and confidence-building that will help them enter the workforce.

The ambulance service’s recruitment team will be taking part in the event by hosting mock interviews for the young adults, and providing them with feedback for real-life interviews. This experience will give participants a taste for what interviewing is like and help them build confidence so that they’re prepared for their future careers.

North East Ambulance Service recruitment business partner, Nicola Couley, said: “It’s always great to be able to go out into our communities and support people with their career development.

“At the ambulance service, we have lots of employees from different backgrounds whose careers into the ambulance service haven’t always been linear or straight from college or university.

“The opportunity to go out and meet young people who are keen to get into the workplace is always very rewarding to see, and we’re happy to support them in developing those vital interviewing skills that they need to get into work.”
