PRESS CALL: AMBULANCE SERVICE VOLUNTEERS TRAIN HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE IN LIFE SAVING CPR

WHAT -

300 school children at St Josephs will be trained in lifesaving skills as part of a North East Ambulance Service Restart a Heart initiative to reach 3,500 people during next week.

To mark the national Restart a Heart Day, staff and volunteers from North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) will be visiting schools across the region to train young people in CPR.  Hospital trusts are joining in to train non clinical staff and members of the public at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, Sunderland Royal Infirmary, South Tyneside and James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough.
