East Herrington A19 incident - 21 December 2025

A NEAS spokesperson said, "We received a call at 10.59 on 21 December 2025 to the A19 junction Park Lea / West Park in East Herrington, Sunderland to reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision.  We dispatched a rapid response paramedic and two emergency ambulance crews who assessed and discharged 5 patients at the scene, including adults and children, with onwards advice to make their own way to hospital.  They transported one further adult male patient to Sunderland General Hospital for further treatment."
