Incident at South Shields beach - Monday 25 May 2026

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 4.10pm on Monday 25 May to reports of an incident at South Shields beach. We dispatched five ambulance crews, a duty officer, a clinical team leader, and four crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene. Three patients were transported to hospital for further treatment and another was treated and discharged on-scene."
