Incident near the River Tyne in North Shields - Monday 18 August 2025

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident near the River Tyne in North Shields on Monday 18 August at 12:01. We dispatched two ambulance crews, one specialist paramedic, one HART crew (Hazardous Area Response Team) and were supported by coastguard. One patient was taken the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital (NSEC)."
