RTC on Salters Lane in South Hetton - 15 Dec

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: "We attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles just after midnight on Salters Lane in South Hetton today (15 Dec). We dispatched five paramedic ambulances, a doctor in a rapid response car, two hazardous area response team (HART) crews, a clinical team leader and a duty officer.

"Also in assistance were police and fire service for the collision in which one car had rolled over and some patients were trapped. We treated six patients, of which five were taken to hospital and one was discharged on scene after assessment."
