Governor spotlight: Jayden Witherspoon
Our youngest governor, 18-year-old Jayden, who represents the Durham area and studies at St Leonard’s Sixth Form, spoke to us about his role
"I have been a NEAS governor since March this year. I wanted to become a governor as I am quite interested in the operations and frontline side of the ambulance service, and wanted to gain an understanding of behind the scenes with things such as statistics and current strategies.
"I get to meet other amazing governors who all have a different background, so hearing their life stories is really interesting. Being a governor, especially at a young age, helps me become more confident with socialising with others.
"When I'm not volunteering as a governor, you'll find me working as a trainee barista at Cafe Néro. I also enjoy studying, especially the biology side of my course."
