Governor spotlight: Jonathan Knox
Staff governor, Jonathan spoke to us about his role
"I have worked for NEAS for over 15 years, commencing in post as business planning and performance manager in November 2009.
"I have recently been appointed as a staff governor and I am now a couple of months in the new term but i have previously been a staff governor for three years.
"The reason I wanted to become a staff governor is having the ability to ensure Support Services are represented. Although not patient-facing in our roles, we still provide business-critical support to our operational colleagues, and are an important staff group to be visible and engaged.
"The most important things I gain are a greater understanding of the patient perspective, as our Governors represent a wide range of communities and patient groups, and the chance to help my colleagues have a voice.
"Outside of work and being a staff governor, I enjoy reading, hiking, running, attending a gymnasium, listening to music, and going to the cinema."
