Governor spotlight: Liz Highmore
Liz, who was recently elected as our joint deputy lead governor, spoke to us about her role
"I'm 72-years-old and based in South of Tyne. I'm now serving in my second term as a governor.
"I wanted to become a governor because I think it’s important that peoples' voices are heard, especially those with disabilities. I have experience of working with other bodies within the health and social care sector and felt this knowledge would help NEAS.
"I get satisfaction from holding the directors and non-executive directors to account to ensure the needs of the public are met.
"When I'm not volunteering as a governor, I enjoy dancing, studying, reading, knitting and crocheting."
