Industrial action at North East Ambulance Service postponed
The GMB and Unison trade unions have informed their members that they have postponed the industrial action scheduled for later this week as they will be entering into negotiations with the government along with other health service unions.
Both unions had been due to take part in action on Wednesday, 8 March; the Unison action had been planned for 12-hours whilst the GMB action had been planned for a 24-hour period.
As a result of the action being stood down, we are standing down arrangements made to respond to industrial action next week.
We will continue to work with trade union colleagues closely to keep patients safe in any future periods of industrial action and will update you as necessary.
Once again, we thank you for your continued support.
