Spotlight on our Board: Steven Mason, non-executive director
This month, we asked non-executive director (NED) Steven Mason to tell us a little about him and how he feels about his role.
"Thank you for the opportunity to let you know a little about myself and my role within NEAS. I have lived within the North East my entire life, working within Northumberland, Newcastle, Durham and Teesside.
"My main roles have been within finance, working as a director of finance within both health and local government. I have however also enjoyed being a chief executive, again within health and local government.
"Perhaps not surprisingly, I am a member of the performance and finance committee and the charitable funds committee. Recently I have also enjoyed contributing to the quality committee.
"As a local resident I have interacted with the ambulance service via a combination of accidents and care for an elderly relative and have always been impressed by the kindness and professionalism of staff. It is therefore an honour to be able to contribute to the organisation I hold in very high regard."
