We have introduced new processes within our Emergency Operations Centre and for our frontline crews to help us improve our response to patients, and are looking for further support from system partners.

A new model for maximising alternative care pathways in the hope of avoiding unnecessary ambulance attendances and hospital admissions has now been successfully rolled out across the North East.

The Care Quality Commission will publish a report tomorrow, Friday 7 July, giving an update on their re-inspection of urgent and emergency care services in NEAS. They have shared a press release today with an embargo of 00:01 on 7 July.

The GMB and Unison trade unions have informed their members that they have postponed the industrial action scheduled for later this week as they will be entering into negotiations with the government along with other health service unions.

North East Ambulance Service has provided an update following the period of planned industrial action on 11 January.

As we prepare to bring 2022 to a close, we reflect on an incredibly challenging year for our service and the wider NHS around us.

We want to personally thank colleagues, both within my organisation and the partners who work alongside us, as well as the hundreds of volunteers who support us in providing care for our patients. It has never been a more important time to look after each other.
