Winter is traditionally the busiest time of year for our service. Every year, our communications team delivers a comprehensive and high‑impact winter communications campaign designed to support patient safety, manage seasonal pressures and highlight the work of frontline teams.

From improving policies and championing inclusion to shaping national conversations, each of North East Ambulance Service’s staff networks delivered a year of exceptional progress, support and innovation in 2025, making a meaningful difference to colleagues across the organisation.

Last year, our Education Team delivered training to 13,498 people, including NEAS colleagues and more than 8,000 external learners.

Gathering on one of the rare student‑free days in the calendar, the team reflected on the breadth of work delivered behind the scenes – much of which often goes unseen by the wider workforce.

As the annual festivities approach, North East Ambulance Service and partners are urging the public to stay safe, celebrate responsibly, and to use NHS services wisely during Christmas and New Year.

A picture drawn by a talented family member of a North East Ambulance Service health advisor has been chosen as the service’s Christmas card for 2025.

A Bedlington man will have the opportunity to celebrate his birthday and Christmas with his family this month thanks to the fast actions of the people who came to his aid when he collapsed in the street.

North East Ambulance Charity has received £46,250 from NHS Charities Together to launch a ground-breaking Neurodiversity Wellbeing Project, providing targeted support for neurodivergent colleagues, including those who are autistic, have ADHD or dyslexia.
